Danao Adventure Park

If you’re looking for an outdoor adventure, the Danao Adventure Park is the place to be. This park offers fun and rewarding outdoor activities, including zip-lining, rappelling, and kayaking. One of the most popular activities here is the Plunge, where you jump off a 50-meter cliff and freefall for a few seconds before being caught by a rope.

Snorkeling and Diving

Bohol is home to some of the most stunning dive sites in the Philippines. If you’re a certified diver, you should definitely check out the dive sites in Balicasag Island. The island is home to a variety of marine life, including schools of fish, sea turtles, and colorful corals. Here are the other dive sites in Bohol if you’re interested.

If you’re not a certified diver, you can still enjoy the underwater world by snorkeling, which is my favorite water activity since I can’t swim. There are plenty of snorkeling spots around the island that you can explore but I feel like Balicasag is the most convenient once since we always go there after Dolphin watching.

Island Hopping Tour

One of the best ways to explore the beauty of Bohol is by taking an island hopping tour. This tour will take you to some of the most beautiful islands around Bohol, including Pamilacan Island, Virgin Island, and Balicasag Island. During the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to swim, snorkel, and relax on the white sand beaches.

Chocolate Hills Adventure

Yes, one of the best ways to explore the Chocolate Hills is by ATV or buggy . You can rent one of these vehicles at the chocolate hills adventure park and drive through the hills, which will give you a unique perspective of the landscape. This is better if you come in a group because there’s a number of participants to fill before the tour starts. Don’t miss this when you travel to Bohol.

Cave Exploration

The Hinagdanan cave is the first one that comes to mind when I hear cave exploration in Bohol. I think it’s the most popular one. You should also try Cabagnow cave and Kaligoon cave. All of them have pools inside so better be ready with your swimwear too.

Beach Activities

Bohol is known for its beautiful beaches, and there are a variety of activities to enjoy on the sand and in the water. Here are some of the most famous beach activities in Bohol:

Alona Beach

Alona Beach in Panglao Island is a popular destination for beachgoers. The beach is known for its crystal-clear waters and soft white sand. Visitors can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving in the clear blue waters. There are also plenty of beachfront restaurants and bars to grab a drink or a bite to eat.

Anda Beach

This is currently being labeled as the next Boracay, which I think is fitting because of the beautiful beach. Visitors can rent a paddleboard or kayak to explore the calm waters here. The beach is also less crowded than some of the other popular beaches in Bohol, making it a great spot for a peaceful day by the water.

Other White Sand Beaches

Bohol is home to several other white sand beaches that are worth a visit. Some of the most popular include Dumaluan Beach, Bikini Beach, and Doljo Beach. These beaches offer a variety of activities, including swimming, snorkeling, and beach volleyball. Visitors can also rent a jet ski or go parasailing for a more adventurous day at the beach.

River Experiences

Loboc River Cruise

One of the top river experiences in Bohol is the Loboc River Cruise. This cruise takes you on a scenic journey down the Loboc River, where you can enjoy the lush greenery and the beautiful scenery.

During the cruise, you’ll also get to enjoy a delicious buffet meal on board a floating restaurant. The food is freshly prepared and features a variety of local dishes. I recommend their boxed juice which I forget the name of.

Towards the end of the trip you’ll be greeted by a group of indigenous people doing their dance carrying spears, and bow and arrows. You can take a picture with them too.

River Tubing

When you’re in Danao Adventure Park, why don’t you try river tubing? It typically takes around 1 to 2 hours, depending on factors like water levels and the specific route you take. There will be some safety briefing before you start the activity but please do not forget to wear your life vests.

Wildlife Encounters

The island of Bohol is a great place to experience the wonders of nature and get up close with some of the world’s most fascinating creatures. Here are two of the most popular wildlife encounters in Bohol:

Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary

If you’re interested in seeing one of the smallest primates in the world, then a visit to the Tarsier Sanctuary is a must. The Philippine Tarsier is an endangered species that can only be found in the Philippines, and the sanctuary in Bohol is one of the best places to see them in their natural habitat. I implore you to do your best to not make loud noises. Tarsiers are nocturnal animals after all. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one awake when we visit the place.

Dolphin Watching

Another popular wildlife encounter in the province of Bohol is dolphin watching. You can take a boat tour to see these intelligent and playful creatures in their natural habitat. The dolphins are often seen swimming and jumping in the clear waters around Bohol, and the experience is truly unforgettable.

One of the best places to go dolphin watching is at the Pamilacan Island, which is known for its abundant marine life. You’ll be able to see not only dolphins but also sea turtles and other marine creatures.

There’s a variety of outdoor activities in Bohol that will surely satisfy your adventurous spirit. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing beach vacation or an adrenaline-pumping adventure, Bohol has something for you. This is one of the main reasons why we keep on coming back to Bohol.
